April 9, 2016 Release
Version 1.4.1
We are proud to present a new version of Anypoint Data Gateway that includes new features such as a new set of Data Gateway roles and runtime upgrades for both the DataGateway Designer and the DataGateways. Also a new free form string is supported as a connection parameter for JDBC based DataGateways.
Features and Functionality
New Roles for DataGateway
Besides the existing Organization Owner, two new DataGateway Admin and DataGateway Viewer roles were created to manage the access to the DataGateway Designer.
Connection String for JDBC DataGateways
A free form connection string is now available for the DB2, Oracle and MySQL DataGateways, allowing to introduce custom parameters in the database connection URL.
New Runtimes for the Designer and the DataGateways
The Designer now runs on the latest Mule 3.7.3, and the DataGateways were upgraded to run on API Gateway 1.3.2
Known Limitations
The same limitations of v1.4.0 apply to this version. Also:
-
When using a connection string to set up a DB2, Oracle or MySQL DataGateway, Cloud Extender will be disabled. Cloud Extender needs the initial host and ports defined to open a tunnel, and these can not be safely derived from a connection string. The connection string can be used with either a public database, or through a VPC.
January 9, 2016 Release
Version 1.4.0
This new version of Anypoint Data Gateway includes two new features: full integration with the Anypoint Platform and support for connecting to Salesforce through a single API endpoint.
Features and Functionality
Full integration with the Anypoint Platform
Anypoint Data Gateway is now a full Anypoint Platform application, accessible through the main Anypoint Platform management center. Over the next month it will be enabled for all API solution customers. Anypoint Data Gateway continues to be also be available through Salesforce for those using the embedded experience.
Single OData API endpoint for Salesforce
Anypoint Data Gateway can now publish all your gateways on a single OData API for Salesforce. This means a single Salesforce Lightning Connect license is required per environment, reducing costs and simplifying the integration.
Known Limitations
The same limitations of v1.3.1 apply to this version. Also:
-
Due to known issues in the Salesforce API, any publishing or synchronization issue can be easily fixed by going to Setup > Develop > External Data sources, selecting the published data source and clicking on Validate and Sync (In Salesforce)
-
If you are publishing more than 100 objects to Salesforce, you will need to create a separate environment for additional gateways, since Salesforce only allows 100 objects per endpoint.
-
Since all the objects within an environment are now published through a single OData API, there must not be duplicate object names across the Data Gateways in a given environment.
-
Any preexisting DataGateway must be republished through the Salesforce link in the left navigation bar to ensure it uses the new single OData API.
-
In order to use the latest fixes on data mapping, new Data Gateways must be created to replace the old ones with blob, double and datetime field issues.
December 5, 2015 Release
Version 1.3.1
We are excited to announce the next release of Anypoint Data Gateway. This release adds tighter integration with the Anypoint Platform, adding trials and enterprise users controls. It also features many UI improvements including an all new copy objects feature.
Features and Functionality
Copy Objects feature
Data Gateway allows you to copy an object from one gateway to another. This feature is especially useful when working with multiple environments that you wish to maintain in a similar state, such as a development and a production environment.
Cloud Extender authenticated proxy support
Cloud Extender has been enhanced to support authenticated or transparent proxies, making it possible to expose your internal datasources through Data Gateway in an easy and friendly way.
Known Limitations
The same limitations of v1.2.1 apply to this version.
For more information, see the product announcement.
May 13, 2015 Release
Version 1.1.0
Features and Functionality
Cloud Extender
Cloud Extender is an agent that enables you to connect to your on-premise data source during the trial period without undergoing VPC configuration to evaluate the product. Cloud Extender relays data between Data Gateway and the data source within the private network through an SSH over HTTP tunnel. The advantage of Cloud Extender is that it eliminates the need to open ports in your firewall and that it configures itself automatically — all you have to do is run it.
UX/UI improvements
Several minor UI/UX fixes and improvements:
-
Object edition buttons were moved into the object details view
-
Synchronization against Salesforce is performed only for the profiles assigned to the current user
-
Improved connection creation experience
Known Limitations
The same limitations of 2015 Release apply to this version.
For more information, see the product announcement.
