Update Dependencies in a Mule-Application Project (Flow Designer)
Dependencies are connectors and other parts of a flow that are versioned independently from Mule. For example, if you are using Sharepoint connector 3.1.1 in a flow and Mule 4.1.5, you can switch to a different version of the connector and continue to use Mule 4.1.5. You might want to switch to the latest version of a connector so that your Mule application can use a new feature that is included in that version.
Switching will not cause your project to delete the reusable configuration that you have created for the connector. However, if the changes that are introduced in the version that you switch to include configuration changes, you might need to edit the configuration for the connector. To check whether editing is necessary, refer to the release notes for the connector.
After a new version of Mule Runtime is released, opening an existing Mule-app project causes the application to use that new version. Flow Designer updates the application immediately and then restarts it in the Design environment only. If Flow Designer is unable to update an application, it does not restart the application. This process ensures that Mule applications are always using the latest version of Mule Runtime. The update might require you to update the connectors that are used in the application. If so, you cannot redeploy the application until you update the connectors. |
